Whey protein concentrate (WPC) is the classic whey powder: gently filtered milk protein retaining around 70–80% protein with a little natural lactose and milk fat for a creamier taste.
What is whey protein concentrate?
WPC is made by ultrafiltering liquid whey and spray-drying it into powder. It keeps more of whey's natural fractions — including small amounts of lactose and milk fat — which gives it a rounder, milkier flavour than isolate at a friendlier price per serve.
The science
Like all whey, concentrate is a complete protein rich in essential amino acids and leucine. It digests over 1–2 hours, steadily supplying amino acids to support muscle protein synthesis and daily protein intake. The small amount of natural milk fat slows gastric emptying slightly, which many people find more satisfying between meals.
Why you'll use it
